How we use information

• Run core features: secure sessions, one-time download tokens, favorites, rating, pagination.
• Protect the platform: detect fraud/scraping, rate-limit abusive traffic, enforce tokens on downloads.
• Improve relevance: popularity rankings (views, downloads, ratings), search improvements, category curation.
• Legal compliance: act on valid copyright notices and respond to lawful requests.

Analytics

We may use web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to measure aggregated usage. IP addresses can be processed to provide coarse geolocation and traffic protection. We do not merge analytics data with your account information for profiling.

Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use only what is necessary to operate and improve the site.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Accounts & Registration

Registration is optional. If you create an account, we process your name, username, email, password hash, and profile settings (e.g., avatar). We never store plaintext passwords.

• Favorites & Ratings: favorites require login; ratings are limited by IP to reduce spam.
• Login activity: IP, user-agent, timestamps are logged to protect accounts and our service.
• Account deletion: when you delete your account, we soft-delete and may anonymize residual aggregates (e.g., counts, totals). You can re-register with the same email later.

Security & Retention

• Transport & sessions: CSRF tokens, secure cookies (when served over HTTPS), one-time download tokens for file delivery.
• Access control: least-privilege access to production data; authentication required for administrative actions.
• Retention: keep usage logs for a limited period to detect abuse; retain account data while active. Soft-deleted accounts are pruned/anonymized on a schedule.
• Data sharing: we do not sell personal data. We share data only as needed with processors (e.g., analytics/ads) or to comply with law.

Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA and similar)

• Access/Export: request a copy of your personal data.
• Rectification: update incorrect or incomplete information.
• Deletion: request account deletion; we will remove or anonymize personal data subject to legal obligations.
• Restriction/Objection: object to certain processing (e.g., personalized ads/analytics) and manage cookie preferences.
• Do Not Sell or Share (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell personal information; advertising partners may be considered “sharing” under some laws—use the cookie preferences link to opt-out of cross-context behavioral ads.

Copyright & Takedown

We host user-submitted designs and links. We do not pre-approve each file. If you believe any material infringes your rights, email legal@freelasercutfiles.com with:

1. Exact URL(s) of the content on our site,
2. Proof of ownership or authorization,
3. Your full contact details.

Upon receiving a valid notice, we promptly review and remove material as appropriate.

Terms of Use

Acceptable use

• Do not upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content.
• Respect the license shown on each item page. When no license is shown, treat files as personal/educational use.
• Do not redistribute or resell the digital files unless explicitly permitted by the contributor’s license.
• Do not attempt to bypass download protections or scrape file storage.

Liability disclaimer

Downloads are provided “as is.” You are solely responsible for verifying file integrity, correct units, machine settings, materials safety, and compliance with local laws. FreeLaserCutFiles.com and contributors are not liable for damages, losses, or claims arising from the use of files.
